Why should I go to Bonaire?
|
This is maybe one of the many questions you have before you decide to choose your diving destination, especially when you are an underwater photographer or videographer.
Compare Bonaire with other Caribbean islands and you will discover the following:
Bonaire is located below the 'hurricane belt' which means that this island is never troubled by bad weather like other Caribbean island up north.
Almost all dive sites are located on the leeward side of the island and therefore we have calm and flat water all the time.
The reefs are close to the shore, (maximum 100 yards/m)
and entries are easy which makes Bonaire the best shore dive location in the Caribbean.
The island of 'Klein Bonaire' (small Bonaire in Dutch) is less than one mile from the main island, it will take less then 10 minutes by boat to get to the greatest dive sites in the Caribbean. You can dive on Bonaire the whole year through!! Last but not least is that local law under supervision of the Bonaire Marine Park protects the reefs. Anything in the water from 0-200 feet is protected.
Spear fishing, anchoring, diving with gloves, contact with the reef is prohibited.
You will see healthy, beautiful reefs and lots of marine life on it guaranteed!
